Device Research & Development (R&D) has a long and outstanding track-record of developing the best, most innovative and widely-used injection devices in the world. We are organised in a project centric organisation in addition to a large device innovation area of experts, providing state-of-the-art knowledge across our projects. About the department You will join the team called Secondary Packaging and User Communication which is a part of the Device Innovation Support area in Device R&D. We are a group of 10 highly dedicated and committed employees with a shared passion for user communication and secondary packaging. It is our responsibility to develop new packaging solutions and instruction guidelines for our medical devices in order to secure a safe and correct usage of our products. The position As our new packaging engineer, you will participate in device development projects where you will be responsible for our secondary packaging development. Your tasks will include development of packaging concepts, subject matter coordination, definition of material specifications in the early development phases, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), participate in working out Full Manufacturing Cost (FMC), planning and follow-up of activities with subcontractors, consultants and industrial designers as well as establishment of testing programmes and participation in hazard and risks analyses in the later phases. Your working day will be very dynamic with many different types of activities, in different phases of the development process. Cooperating with a wide range of internal customers and dedicated experts within Device R&D, as well as other units within Novo Nordisk, will be a key factor to your success. Qualifications You hold a technical or scientific degree at minimum Bachelor’s level and you have worked with packaging development for a minimum of five years. It is essential that you possess knowledge of requirements for medical device packaging as well as Good Documentation Practise (GDP) within the pharmaceutical industry or related industries with similar regulations. You have experience within several of the following topics: Packaging development, automatic packaging processes, computer aided design systems like AutoCAD or CREO, injection moulding, shipping equipment and processes, user driven innovation and LEAN. You are a strong team player recognised for your interpersonal skills, your collaborative attitude and technical competences. You combine theory and practise and know how to apply your knowledge to develop packaging design and solve practical problems. Your analytical and structured approach combined with your innovative and curious mind-set help you, in both brainstorming and problem solving situations. You communicate fluently in English both written and orally. Finally you are capable of handling and solving numerous tasks simultaneously, working in an international and dynamic environment. Device R&D have a strong expertise in on-boarding non-local and we welcome non-local applicants, willing to relocate to Denmark. We have a strong history of developing ground-breaking devices.
