For our Offshore Customer Order Engineering team, we are looking for a person with the ambition to become “Mr. or Ms. Tower” for Siemens offshore wind projects worldwide. As a person with high seniority and a proven track record within wind turbine tower design, you will be our front figure and professional expert, knowing everything there is to know about cutting edge tower design, manufacturing and installation methodologies. Together with your colleagues in an experienced and multi-disciplinary engineering team you will have involvement and responsibilities within the sales and tender phase as well as in the entire range of engineering processes from the first concept studies and through to installation and follow up. What are my responsibilities? As a design manager, you will be responsible for managing and driving the delivery of tower design solution for all Siemens offshore wind farm projects worldwide. You will be responsible for coordinating the multi-functional teams within Siemens and external consultants working with projects in both sales and executions phases. Furthermore, your tasks will be: • Managing the entire design process to ensure state of the art tower solutions • Stakeholder management and hereby ensuring alignment between the design teams with respect to interfaces and requirements • Facilitate third-party review and certifications processes and ensuring all open design issues are addressed and closed • Promoting industrialization process within design teams • Following designs from concept, fabrication, installation and through to decommissioning What do I need to qualify for this job? • You have minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or structural engineering, specialist in engineering management and design processes, preferably from offshore related industries • You are an outgoing self-starter, proactive and take the initiative • You work well in both team setting and independently • You have a result oriented approach to your work and have excellent communication skills • You hold as minimum a B.Sc in Mechanical or Civil Engineering • Finally, you posses good English skills both orally and in writing In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
