Job Opening - Energy Advisor: Background: The Korean Embassy in Denmark is seeking a dedicated staff who will serve as an Energy Advisor. The Position will be part of the Embassy’s Economic/Commercial Section which handles the full range of Korea-the Kingdom of Denmark (Denmark, Greenland and Faroe Islands) collaboration on economic /commercial issues and consists of another colleague in different sector. A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Energy (including renewable Energy)/Mineral resources policy and business of the Kingdom of Denmark. Working with an Economic Counsellor, the successful candidate will be a vital part of team and will lead on a number of specific issues. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Monitor, analyze and report the Energy(including Renewable Energy)/Mineral resources/Green Growth policy, technology development and tender information in the Kingdom of Denmark. • Reach out to Korean companies and help develop their business, and create valuable partnerships in the Energy(including Renewable Energy)/Mineral resources/Green Growth field of the Kingdom of Denmark. • Analyze international and EU economic issues and policies • Take responsibility for arranging and assisting visits to the Kingdom of Denmark by Korean government officials and companies, and to Korea by government officials and companies of the Kingdom of Denmark. • Develop and maintain contacts within government, industry and the NGO community to achieve the above-mentioned tasks. • Assist the Ambassador on the issues of the Energy(including Renewable Energy)/Mineral resources/Green Growth field • Assist in writing papers in Danish and English Minimum Qualifications / Experience: • Minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s Degree required • Danish Nationality or Foreign Nationality who is able to legally reside in the Kingdom of Denmark (The Embassy does not sponsor visas) required • Fluent in English and Danish required • Belongs to at least one category among the following qualification required: - At least 1 years of working experience in the Administration, industry, institute in the Energy(including Renewable Energy)/Mineral resources/Green Growth fields - Possession of Ph. D Degree or other professional certificate such as lawyer - Maintain a strong network with contacts within government, industry and the NGO community in the Energy(including Renewable Energy)/Mineral resources/Green Growth fields • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, flexibility in a team setting, ability to work independently and an enthusiastic approach preferred. The position is to be filled by September 1, 2014. The position is on a contract basis and initially offered one year (with possible extension) including the first 3 month probation period.
