Copenhagen / Local / Finance-Accounting / Ref.: MO-080958 As Growth Portfolio analyst within Maersk Oil, Global Growth Unit, you will work with strategic planning and portfolio management of the Maersk Oil growth activities. The Growth Unit is responsible for delivering growth to the Maersk Oil global portfolio through Exploration and M&A activities. We Offer You will be part of a small, flexible team that works closely with senior management focusing on Exploration and M&A. The team is amongst other tasks responsible for setting the Growth Strategic plan within the Maersk Oil corporate strategy and for the portfolio management of the global exploration portfolio. You will report to the head of Growth Strategy and Portfolio. The position is a new position created to support our growth efforts in the newly established global Growth unit in Maersk Oil and will give you significant insight into Maersk Oil globally and the opportunity to work with Oil & Gas Exploration and M&A. You will be working in close cooperation with multiple stakeholders across the entire organization and the position will provide a strong network and foothold for a future career within Maersk Oil. Key Responsibilities Your primary tasks will include: • Perform exploration portfolio simulations to support decisions regarding prioritization and selection of Growth investments to ensure maximum return on investment while managing exposure to risk • Produce regular forecasts of future exploration portfolio performance • Perform look-backs to compare portfolio outcome with predictions, including a full account of the relationship between variance and assessed uncertainty • Carry out industry benchmarking of exploration performance • Build, develop and maintain tools and methods for exploration portfolio analysis • Contribute to the definition of innovative methods to characterize and assess the health of the exploration portfolio in terms of potential return, exposure to risk and long term sustainability • Contribute to the development of concepts for the quantitative framing of portfolio decision making • Support the Growth strategic planning and articulation of the Growth strategy • Contribute to department/ad hoc tasks for senior management. Who we are looking for We expect you to have at least a Masters degree in a numerate subject, preferably with a strong probabilistic and statistical component as well as professional experience applying probabilistic and statistical methods, particularly modelling and simulation, to support business or policy decision making. Programming skills and experience with portfolio modelling and portfolio modelling software are desirable but not essential. You have exceptional analytical skills coupled with a pragmatic approach to problem solving informed by a well-developed concept of strategy. You have a strong interest to work in the oil and gas industry, excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
