DTU Food at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a 3 year position as senior research scientist within Molecular Toxicology in the Research Group for Molecular Toxicology in the Division of Diet, Disease Prevention & Toxicology. The research group focuses on elucidating toxicological mechanisms-of-action of environmental/food contaminants using a battery of in silico, in vitro and in vivo models. The overall aim is to develop improved ways of evaluating chemical safety. Responsibilities and tasks The work tasks include: (i) development of ‘Adverse Outcome Pathways’ for endocrine disruption and adverse reproductive health effects; (ii) development of mechanistically relevant QSAR models for human health effects, and; (iii) development of a tool for risk assessment of chemical mixtures. The work will involve international and national collaboration with other scientists and regulatory authorities. You will together with other senior researchers in the group participate in the planning of future research agendas and writing of grant applications. Some consultancy and teaching activities as well as supervision of higher degree students will also be part of the job. Qualifications The successful candidate should hold a PhD degree as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as researcher or postdoc. The candidate will have a solid background in molecular toxicology and documented experience with QSAR modeling as well as with planning, conducting and evaluating in vitro and in vivo experiments. Experience with supervision and teaching of higher degree students within molecular/predictive toxicology is a prerequisite. Experience from interaction with regulatory authorities is also a prerequisite.
