About the department Every day, we execute significant purchases and ensure optimum procurement in Novo Nordisk’s large and tangible investment projects. Our purchases range from constructions and buildings over critical production equipment to engineering services. In 2014, we managed spend for DKK ~3,4bn. “We”, that is a team of 16, having diverse backgrounds and sharing an engaged, people focused culture. Together, we assist our customers on all global production sites throughout Novo Nordisk. The job Within this position, you will manage the important sub-category of internal consultants. This entails the execution of consultant orders, keeping track of the category spend while continuously driving optimisation of processes and ensuring compliance to our procedures. You will have full responsibility for maintaining sustainable relationships with the respective suppliers as well as create new and re-negotiate existing frame agreements and monitor performance. In addition to being owner of the internal consultant suppliers, you will become the expert and one-point-of contact for the overall supplier acceptance process within our area, which covers the initial evaluation to acceptance, continuous monitoring and cyclical re-evaluation. Together with the other category managers, you will be given the opportunity of further developing and promoting the category management programme, meaning to ensure sharing of knowledge to and from category managers as well as guaranteeing proper execution of initiatives, followed by tracking of their progress. This job will offer the opportunity for continuous learning and further development of your knowledge from a mix of collaboration with highly experienced colleagues as well as increasing complexity in your tasks – all of this in a challenging and competitive environment. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate with professional procurement experience, preferably from a complex industry and/or an understanding of GMP and the pharmaceutical industry environment. In every case, you should be aware of and understand the environment of a complex organization with many different stakeholders. Your behaviour is proactive, result-oriented and focused on delivering according to plan. A focus on continuous improvement of processes and systems is an inherent part of your working style. You are structured and have an analytical mind-set that enables you to conclude fast and efficiently. Building and maintaining good working relationships is vital to this role, and the ideal candidate possesses excellent people skills as well as a profound understanding of quality, high drive, and flexibility. Very likely you hold a MSc degree in economics, engineering, business, purchasing or similar. You communicate with ease in English and have very solid IT skills.
