Are you experienced with reliability and power conversion design? Do you want to work with a team of highly skilled engineers on the core system of a wind turbine? If so, you could be our new Reliability Engineer to join our team. Vestas Technology & Service Solutions, Nacelle Power & Handling, Electrical Power & Control, Converter Electrical & High Voltage Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested and improved. To put it short, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy. The Converter Electrical & High Voltage department is part of Vestas R&D organization Technology & Service Solutions. The department is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by developing the electrical power conversion components as power stack (power electronics), transformer and switchgear. This is done by being responsible for development and maintenance of the components according to the full value chain requirements. All Vestas products are based on internally developed converters since electrical power conversion is at the core of how a wind turbine performs, operates and interacts with the electrical grid. With an engineering background in power conversions will your main role will be: 1) Drive design for reliability within electrical power and control. 2) Specification, design and validation of the power electronics for converter systems. The daily work will be within a broad network of stakeholders and together with the electrical specialists you will set the standard for tomorrows design. You will be a part of the power electronic team within the Converter Electrical & High Voltage department. The department consists of 12 highly skilled designers and specialists located in Aarhus. Responsibilities: As Engineer in Power Electronics, you will be a part of the Power Electronics team and report to the Converter Electrical & High Voltage Manager within Electrical Power & Control. Your main responsibilities and tasks will be: Drive and lead design for reliability within Electrical Power and Control. Development of failure prediction models based on statistics and/or physics-of-failure. Establishment of predicted failure rates for proposed designs. Set targets for how to qualify power components. Establishment of reliability verification methodology. Create design verification plans/procedures and conduct tests for design validation. Technology scouting for reliability improvements. Establish Critical To Qualitys for principal components. Specification and design of power electronic to converter systems. Specification and design of filters for grid connected power converters. Participate in supplier quality evaluation. Review engineering designs. Qualifications: Your qualifications include: A bachelor/master in a relevant area, i.e. reliability, power electronics, electrical engineering. Experience from power electronics design. Experience in working with reliability and verification. Good communication skills. Experienced in project execution in matrix organization.
