Steno Diabetes Center is seeking a talented and ambitious Research Manager for its prevention research group starting 1 March 2015 or soonest possible. About the department The overall vision is to position Steno Health Promotion Research and Steno Diabetes Center as an international leading research center in relation to patient education as well as the prevention of diabetes. The focus for the Prevention Research Group is on minimising risk factors for diabetes through new and innovative interventions. A number of prevention projects have been developed by the Prevention Research Group in settings characterized by different levels of risks such as schools, local communities and families (read the strategy for Steno Health Promotion Research for a further description: https://steno.dk/en/pages/omsteno/organisation/stenos_centre/health_promotion_research.aspx) The work in the research group is characterized by consensus driven teamwork, and collaboration with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. The job As Research Manager you will be managing a group of 10-12 researchers in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment with the focus on participatory and action-oriented research approaches. You will also be in a position to further develop your own research profile in the field of diabetes prevention. Furthermore, you will be part of the management team with the manager for Patient Education Research and the Head of Health Promotion Research where you will be involved in in shaping and executing the future strategy of the area. You will refer directly to the Head of Health Promotion Research. The job includes close collaboration with the clinic, education and other research groups at Steno Diabetes Center as well as with national and international partners. Qualifications You hold a degree in public health, education, psychology, health science, anthropology or a related area. Furthermore, you have a Ph.D.-degree or similar qualifications in a relevant area. You have experience with empirical research in the prevention area, carried out in collaboration with relevant practice settings. You have research experience with risk factors such as physical activity, obesity or nutrition/food. Experience in the field of diabetes will be an advantage. You have leadership qualities, and are a motivating, dynamic and engaging performance driver. Furthermore, you are flexible, open to new ideas, ambitious and have strong communication and coaching skills. You are personally motivated to be successful and must be capable of achieving results in a highly collaborative and consensus-driven team. You are able to manage diversity and are fluent in English.
