We are looking for highly qualified candidate with relevant business experience to manage our Surface Treatment Commodity. As a Global Commodity Manager, you will be fully responsible for the strategic procurement of this commodity and for striving for the best in a world-class procurement department. This is a newly created position and will be involved across several commodities utilizing in corrosion protection methods to develop a surface treatment procurement strategy with focus in technology, quality, delivery and cost. In this position you will report directly to one of the five Global Heads of Procurement managing the total Siemens Wind Power direct material spend. Ideally the employment is in Brande however it could be placed in Hamburg with business trips to Brande. What are my responsibilities? Define Commodity and sub-commodity structure and organization Planning, coordinating and heading up a cross-functional commodity to achieve optimum conditions and results through collaborative, targeted activities within the organization Manage tier 2 and tier 1 supplier relation to implement negotiated commercial conditions Ensure Purchase Volume transparency globally, amongst others, by correct material grouping to ensure a correct reporting and to derive an appropriate commodity strategy Initiating, designing and driving demand pooling within Siemens Wind Power and ensuring the optimum use of purchasing power in cooperation with corporate functions wherever possible Proactively setting up and running supplier management (in junction with partner functions such as Procurement Engineering, Supplier Quality, Development Engineering, Logistics, and Operations) Define and implement negotiation concepts and strategies to maximize savings Forster the usage of e-Procurement tools and ensuring that contract structures are transferable in e-Catalogues to improve the Procurement process and efficiency Other working areas: Knowledge management, Risk and opportunity management, Supplier management What do I need to qualify for this job? You have a Bachelor degree (Business Administration / Engineering / Bachelor of Science ) as an educational background 7+ years of relevant professional experience within the area of Surface treatment / corrosion protection (e.g. coating, galvanization, plating, etc.) Strong technical and market knowledge within the industry Experience in management and implementation of tier 2 supplier desirable You are an experienced negotiator with a proven track record and strong analytical skills. Take responsibility and work towards planning targets, overcoming obstacles, setbacks and uncertainty You have leadership experience and preferably experience in project management You have excellent English skills both orally and in writing, and you are an advanced user of Microsoft Office tools In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
