Researcher in Thermomechanical Modelling of Manufacturing Processes

DTU, Department of Mechanical Engineering, the section for Manufacturing Engineering has a vacant position as researcher in the field of thermomechanical modelling of manufacturing processes. The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Responsibililties and tasks The applicant should in general have a strong competence in numerical heat transfer and computational solid mechanics applied to high temperature manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the candidate should have demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain academic collaboration with external partners. Qualifications Candidates must hold a PhD degree or similar.Furthermore, the candidates must have: •Knowledge of coupled thermal and mechanical simulations applied to manufacturing processes and materials •Knowledge of non-linear constitutive and geometrical modelling •Knowledge of commercial finite element software packages •General knowledge of manufacturing technology •Experience in collaboration with external partners from both academia as well as industry Assessment In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to: •scientific production and research potential at international level •innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas •the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities •an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience •the ability to contribute to development of the department's internal and external cooperation We offer We offer an interesting and challenging job in an international environment focusing on education, research, public-sector consultancy and innovation, which contribute to enhancing the economy and improving social welfare.
