Join Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Stem Cell Development at Novo Nordisk, Denmark. Our objective is to develop cell replacement therapy into a viable option for treating Diabetes Mellitus. In the Stem Cell Development department you will be part of an international group of 8 dedicated stem cell enthusiasts, who are scientists, focusing on the translation of stem cell research into clinical application. Our department is leading the innovation within the area of bioprocess development of stem cell cultures, as currently no robust and scalable procedures for the manufacture of beta cells derived from stem cells exist. Our current focus is on developing procedures for pilot scale cultivation of stem cells and the differentiation to beta cells. The Stem Cell Development department is part of R&D, and we work in close collaboration with our colleges in Global Research. The position The goal is through innovation within the area of bioprocess development and the possibility in the differentiation of stem cells to combine and turn this into a clinical application. As part of the development team, you will execute and evaluate the experimental work towards establishing a robust procedure for manufacture of beta cells to be used for the clinical trials. In your position, you will take part in the stem cell cultivation and differentiation and perform related analysis monitoring the processes. You will work with team members and execute and evaluate the experimental work towards establishing a robust procedure for manufacture of stem cell derived beta cells to be used for the clinical trials. Furthermore you will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of internal stakeholders. The position is a full-time position for 12 months starting from August or September. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about stem cell biology and bioprocess development. Hands-on experience with one or more of the following methods: mammalian cell cultures and human embryonic stem cells, sterile cell culture, RNA/Q-PCR, FACS analysis will be considered an additional plus. Fluency in both oral and written English, ability to manage a large volume of projects (with supervision), sound personal judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills are required.
